If liberty and equality, as is thought by some are chiefly to be found in democracy, they will be best attained when all persons alike share in the government to the utmost.

Northern Brexit arose from Leaver groups in the North West and North East of England. These were both independent groups (Warrington 4 Brexit and Leavers of Britain social meetings in Manchester, Burnley, Leigh, Wigan, Leeds, Normanton, Pontefract & Castleford). These groups sprang up from 2018 onwards.
Northern Brexit is not political party specific - Many ordinary people going to pub socials, regular, informal Brexit group meetings come from UKIP, Conservative, Labour, Liberal and Brexit party. We've found it incredibly easy to talk about democracy. The divide is no longer left and right - its those who are democrats, believe in respecting the biggest democratic vote for anything in British history, freedom of speech and the right of ordinary people to effect political change. Leavers are united in viewing the EU as a great anti democratic institution which removes accountability from the those in power. Leavers understand the debt we owe to earlier generations in the fight for liberty and democracy. From the English revolution, the arguments of the Putney debates, Tolpuddle martyrs, Peterloo, Chartists, the Suffragettes. Ordinary people fought in two world wars, sacrificing their lives in the belief they fought for democracy.
Northern Brexit aims to assist groups across the north amplify their efforts, aggregate their power to transform the debate for democracy from a private, insulated Westminster parliament and a clapped out party system. The party's are reduced to empty shells, largely bereft of imaginative ideas, innovative plans to change UK politics for the better.
